About Bumblebee's Revenge

A free play-along rhythm game built on Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee."

Bumblebee's Revenge is a free, browser-based rhythm game built on one of the fastest, most thrilling showpieces in all of classical music: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee." Written between 1899 and 1900 as an orchestral interlude for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, the piece races by in barely three minutes on a near-unbroken stream of chromatic sixteenth notes meant to capture the frantic, darting flight of a bumblebee. In this game, that buzzing flurry of notes flies toward you, and you chase it down note by note — a true test of speed and precision.

The piece earns its reputation as a virtuoso challenge: its relentless, fast-moving runs make it a favorite "show-off" piece for instrumentalists everywhere. That makes Bumblebee's Revenge a great workout for fast finger reflexes, rhythmic accuracy, and focus — perfect for music students, instrumentalists wanting a speed challenge, and anyone who loves a frantic, high-energy game.
